We come now to you, the reader, and how your interests may best be met by reading parts of the workbook. Here are some suggestions:
- If you have an idea of starting a new program, start with Chapter 1 and move your way through to Chapter 4
- If you are looking for advice on community needs assessments, read Chapter 3
- If you are wondering about the unique challenges of a Big Brothers Big Sisters agency taking on a Boys and Girls Club, or vice versa, start in with Chapter 4
- If you are concerned about the deeper issues of program sustainability, either for a new program or an existing one, start with Chapter 5 and move onto Chapter 6
- If you are concerned about broader organizational sustainability issues, jump to Chapter 7
- If you are looking for information and advice about deep partnering and mergers, start with Chapter 8 and move onto Chapter 9.
Where possible, we have cross-referenced material in one chapter that is useful in another chapter. Appendices are referenced in footnotes throughout.
Good luck. We hope that you find the materials of interest and assistance.
