The end result of carrying out a detailed community needs assessment, and involving a wider group of people in the process, might be:

  • A clear community decision to launch a Big Brothers Big Sisters program
  • A clear community decision to launch a Boys and Girls Club
  • A clear community decision to launch some other kind of program
  • A clear community decision to make changes in existing programs.

In any of these situations, you will now need to develop a viable program plan as described in Chapter 2 and Appendix M.
