Chapter 2: Developing Big Brothers Big Sisters Programs And Boys And Girls Clubs

Moving To Implementation

You have done the research, completed the initial planning, and signed the affiliation or provisional membership agreement. It has been a long road to get to this point. With the program plan as the roadmap for implementing the program, you are now set to journey down the service delivery path. Yes, it is finally time to do what you initially dreamed of doing. It is time to run the program! The program might not look exactly as you first dreamed it would, but you can be confident that with the thorough preparation you have done, it will be a sustainable, effective, high quality service for the young people of your community.

Congratulations!

But! There may still be key issues of program sustainability and organizational home that need to be addressed. Chapters 5 and 6 in Part 2 will help you check that you have done enough thinking and preparing.
